This injection-molded plastic airplane model with plastic display stand is approximately 11 1/4 inches long with an 11 3/4 inch wingspan. It is faithfully painted in Alaska Airline's new livery introduced in 2016, and includes landing gear, adding to its authenticity. Made in 1/300 scale, the model features highly detailed graphics, and features easy-snap pieces so it assembles in minutes. Recommended for ages 14+ The 737 MAX 8 first flew in 2016 and went into full service in 2017. With a length of 129 feet by 8 inches, and a wingspan of 117 feet and 10 inches, the twin-engine, narrow-body aircraft is a favorite of airlines due to its incorporation of new technology and efficiency. It has a cruising speed of 606.1 miles (975.4 kilometers) per hour, can reach a height of 41,000 miles, and seats between 160 and 200 passengers. Alaska Airlines celebrated its association with Boeing by wishing them a happy 100th birthday with a new livery in 2016 on their airplanes. The Alaska Airlines fleet consists of all Boeing 737 aircraft including four freighter jets. Among the changes the airline made to its livery and branding was adding brighter colors including tropical hues to reflect some of its warmer destinations.
