From the early 1900s through the end of the 1920s, police cars were often solid black because the paint was cheap and durable. In the 1930s, two-tone black and white patrol cars became preferred by police departments because black hid dirt, and white stood out more at night. Through the decades, the NYPD police cars have been painted a variety of colors with one of the most popular being the blue and white. Now, with this keychain, you can celebrate your favorite police car, the NYPD Police Car, at any time or place! Recommended for ages 8+
