A 29-piece 3D wooden puzzle that doubles as a vehicle toy! This unique puzzle kit lets children and adults build one of New York City's signature vehicles piece by piece and then play with it like a toy. The officially licensed FDNY Fire Truck comes in its iconic red color decorated with an authentic FDNY logo and shield. Complete with a pull-back gearbox, the vehicle zooms forward when you pull back and let it go! Recommended for Ages 3+. The first FDNY ladder trucks were pulled by two horses and carried wooden ladders up to 73 feet long. Evolving over time, they went from being horse-drawn to using steam engines, then gasoline-powered, and ultimately the "Super Pumper." The Super Pumper could draw water from eight hydrants at once and provide a flow at up to 10,000 gallons per minute. While fire trucks through the centuries have been painted various colors, red became dominant color in the 1800s. Various theories for the color choice abound, including different fire brigades wanting to stand out from others, and the fact that red is a color that signifies urgency.
